Continuation of Infection Control measures from the 19th July 2021
We need to continue to do what we can to keep people safe from catching Covid-19. One way we can all help with this is by continuing to wear a face-covering from the 19th of July 2021 in our practice and we are asking all patients to do that, as well as our staff. Keeping our staff safe is essential to keep operating efficiently.
We are also continuing to make sure we don’t have large numbers of patients in our waiting areas and on the premises – again this is about reducing the chance of infection when there are rising rates in the community.
The various measures we have taken, including increased use of personal protective equipment, patients wearing face masks, holding more virtual consultations, social distancing and extra premises cleans have helped protect staff, patients and visitors over the past year. Taking these steps has also enabled us to continue providing many of the non-urgent services that would otherwise have been postponed.
We want to make sure you can all be confident about accessing or visiting local healthcare services safely.

Kings Medical Centre would like to invite you to join Doctorlink.
At the practice, we have been looking at how we can improve access to practice services and we are pleased to introduce Doctorlink, our new online service where you can access advice and appointments on line.
Doctorlink is a free online triage and advice tool which helps our patients see the right member of the practice team in an appropriate time-frame based on your clinical need. At the end of the symptom assessment, you can directly book an appointment to suit your needs and/or receive advice relating to what you should do next. We have listened to our patients’ feedback about appointment availability and with this new system, patients will be able save time by reducing unnecessary bookings and calls which in turn will make our services more efficient.
To use Doctorlink, you will first need to register online either via this website or by downloading the app on your mobile device via Google Play or the App Store. Registration is simple and takes around 2-3 minutes. You must be 16 years to register but there is a facility to use the symptom checker on behalf of your child (age 3 ) or for people within your care who are registered at the same practice.
The usual methods of contacting the practice are still in place for those patients who may not be able to use a computer or do not have access to one.

Covid Vaccination Programme
If you are trying to book a 1st dose of the vaccine please follow this link https://digital.nhs.uk/coronavirus/vaccinations/national-booking-service The surgery is now unable to book any 1st dose COVID 19 VACCINES - it is only via 119 or the national booking system that you can book a 1st vaccine according to eligibility.
We are only booking 2nd doses for those who had a first dose at the Buckhurst Way Clinic - you will receive a notification text prior to the 11th week of your 1st Vaccine.
Our latest CQC inspection rating dated 26 September 2016 was GOOD for all services.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

There is limited parking at the front of the Practice (Kings Avenue). There is easy wheelchair access to the building, consulting rooms and visitor’s toilet. A hearing loop is available at reception.
